On 6th May head of research & Development cell of Parthivi College of Engineering and management Bhupesh Verma of mech department in this presentation explained detail about types of researches & the various resources which will further help in undergoing research work the main focus was to undertake research which will help be for benefit of society He further added in his presentation that our college will undergo research in such areas where educational research will be in future converted to sponsored research. Parthivi is already running with pond water purification project .Recently Research team members will undergo research in waste Management plan .Mr. Bhupesh Verma gave detail outlining of research area proposed by ISRO which include advanced cooing system Advanced thermal control system , large unfurl able Antenna Development of high efficient solar cell etc Later he shared his M.Tech topic studies on the Influence of Axial Blends on low frequency ultra sonic Guided waves in Hollow Cylinder. The college management committed appreciated the work of Research team and wished that in future Parthivi will definetly come with good projects which will be for welfare of society During interactions session, Prof Dr. B.D. Tharakan , Principal of Parthivi college of Engineering & Management said research is to be done in structured way & one must be systematic while undergoing research process.

Mr Sanjay Baghel said Parthivi always promote research based study to develop students ereaturty & knowledge .Mr Shailesh Verma said Research helps to raise questions and guide the students to think cultivated their capacity to discover & sove Problems. Prof M.L. Verma It is true that one of the ultimate goats of research & development cell is to promote students motivation & learning interest through practical application Mrs. Neera Verma & Mrs, Archanan Baghel Parthivi helpsjin enhanceny the students anstract thinking by involving them in projects related to day to day life.


PARTHIVI Evolves Design for Village Pond Purification

Village Pond Purification project (Reference No. :- Parthivi/Res/45/121) was conceived as a part of college social responsibility, in which faculty along with management interacted with nearby villagers. One of the major problems appraised by them was regarding the water they use from the ponds for their routine requirements. Due to use of polluted water for consumption and for other household purposes like taking bath, washing clothes and utensils, bathing cattle, fish farming etc causes various water borne diseases. Survey reports of Bhilai-3 area shows, that many people suffer from different hazardous water borne diseases.

BIO-GAS PLANT SET UP AT PARTHIVI COLLEGE


Parthivi College of Engineering and Management authorities have installed a biogas plant on the college campus to process food waste and other biodegradable garbage generated on the campus. Management members said "We opted for a biogas plant because it serves the dual purpose of processing the waste and providing cooking gas for the college canteen. We expect to get cooking gas required for around five hours from this plant."



Biogas Unit

It is made up of following components 1- Food Grade Disaster Tank, four way connector, I.E Valve, anti Brush cork and Gas Vent to all the gas connectors.

Function- Out of various materials like cow dung, gur,rice and maize lugdi of anyone material is made and filled in the digester tank as charge material. In 1:1 ratio water is also added and left in the tank for 15-20 days to undergo fermentation process. By this Biogas starts preparing which consist of 64% methane and then it is recharged again and again. In this digester citrus and hard substances like Pineapple, plastic,rubber, antibiotic medicines ,fishes, ginger, oil etc are not used.

Routine feeding Process: In this mixture material and water is mixed properly and made in the form of paste in the ratio 1:1.The size of the particle should be between 3-5mm.The digester tank has a daily capacity of 2%feed.It means to make biogas from 300 liters mixture, daily 3kg of solid feed and 3litres of water is to be mixed.

Feeding System: The feeding in the digester tank is done with the feeding –inlets tank in which maximum capacity of materials are fed and then in the other end it is provided with feed out-let tank.

Use of Biogas Burner - Plogue Weight is used as burner and natural material is immediately removed after switching off the burner. The weight is never permanently placed in the gas holder.

Cleaning and Discharge Maintenance: The outlet valve is used as outlet tube. When outlet valve is full it is once discharged.

Repetition Percentage : The digester tank is again activated for using it for long duration. For this 5% pure and 5% charge material is added which is equivalent to 10 litre mixture of Cow-dung and water

Digester Porting : The upper part of digester tank has disconnector. It is again filled with the help of valve and then filled till the outlet valve is also filled



SLURRY AS MANURE

Apart from providing cooking gas, the slurry from the plant can be used as manure for the college garden .. The advantages of such processes over conventional aerobic processes are low energy requirement for operation, a low initial investment cost and a low sludge production.Kitchen waste makes up a significant part of biodegradable waste and thus it should be further processed. The objectives of present work are to investigate the potential of food waste in terms of biogas production and organic matter degradation. The alternative energy resource is the need of time but as the management of solid waste is a big problem.
